Easy cooking for effortless Entertaining Part 1 - Salad on a stick!

Photobucket

Salad on a stick? Yes, it doesn't get any easier than this! This is then my last post about Starters or Snacks and the beauty of this post is that it has no recipe. These Salad Kebabs are perfect for a quick meal around the pool or as a side dish to an ever popular BBQ. Here is what you need!

Salad on a Stick

cocktail tomatoes
ciabatta loaf - cubed to the same size as the tomatoes
mozzarella cheese- cubed
basil leaves
wooden skewers - soak in water for 30 min to prevent burning on the grill
olive oil
salt/pepper

Place all the bread cubes in a cowl and drizzle with olive oil and season well. Leave to stand for 10 minutes.
Alternate cubes of bread and cheese with the cocktail tomatoes until you have used up all the ingredients.
Eat the salad kebabs as is or grill them until the cheese is starting to melt but has not lost its shape yet!

Nina I love it. You need a book to show everyone how to elegantly entertain with little stress.

This looks so easy and good. By the way my husband is back in Angola for another 3 1/2 weeks. So we will be spending Xmas alone.

I always love making caprese skewers for a crowd but I admit I've never put bread on the stick before. What a terrible oversight on my part! Bread makes everything better :)
