How to prepare the softest, most delicious and tender steaks ever!!!

Preparing and cooking steaks can be tricky and most people satisfy their cravings for a good steak by going to a steakhouse or other fine dining venue. An event like this can also give you a good head start into complete bankruptcy so I had to make another plan.
In my house we prefer rump and fillet when grilling steaks, but I could not resist a couple of sirloin steaks when I saw them on the
market the other day! I have been battling to get rid of the nasty old flu so grilling steaks was also not on the top of my priority list and that is how this recipe came about.....

Soft and tender Sirloin Steaks

Ingredients

5 sirloin steaks - about 4 cm thick
4 tbsp flour
2 tbsp beef stock powder
125ml good chutney
125ml pinotage
125-250ml water
fresh thyme
2 tbsp Worcester sauce
2 large red onions - sliced
olive oil.
salt and pepper to taste.

Pre-heat oven to 180C.
Throw the flour and beef stock in a plastic bag with the steaks. Toss so that the steaks are nicely coated. Empty the remaining flour and stock into a jug and add all the other ingredients except the onions and oil and mix. In the meantime heat a skillet on the stove, add the oil and onions and brown slightly. Add the steaks and brown on both sides. Pour the flour/stock mixture over the steaks, cover with foil and place in the oven for about 90 minutes. These steaks are best served on a bed of creamy polenta, but I was too sick to bother. Try it and lest me know!!!

Great steak and I love the sauce with a beautiful consistency. Baking in the oven is a wonderful idea.

I hope you feel better. I can't imagine cooking something this elegant and gorgeous when I don't feel well.
