A bowl of comforting Citrussy Chicken Curry

Brrrrrr, it is cold here in Cape Town and all day long I was dreaming of holding a bowl of warm spicy food in my hands. Well, in between homework and driving and admin, I managed to cook this scrumptious Citrussy Chicken Curry and it was just what the doctor ordered.

Spice up your day..

This weekend the cold weather finally arrived. On Friday the children were still in the pool and yesterday morning winter was here in all it glory. For me it was quite a shock!!I love winter ....the climate, the clothes and the FOOD!!!!!, but I had to make a quick mind shift and start my winter repertoire in the kitchen. I got a whole bag full of butternut at the market the other day and my family loves butternut, so that was the obvious choice for celebrating the arrival of winter. I was in the kitchen the whole day, not because the soup takes that long, but my daughter, Chloe wanted to make the soup and that slowed down the process quite significantly.

Roasted butternut with rice pilaf....and Lentil curry.

I was away for the weekend, therefor the absense of new recipes, but I will make up today by posting 2 recipes. I decided to go vegetarian tonight, because we ate way too much meat again this weekend. The result...we all feel sluggish and tired... When I think of vegetables, the first one to come to my mind is butternut, I just love it....

Bobotie - A true South African fare....

As I go through all your different posts each day, I realize that many of you try to stick to recipes within your culture and that made me think that I also have an obligation to show you some recipes that are authentic here in South Africa.
