Potato and Onion Frittata

Making this simple Potato and Onion frittata was the result of a short survey I did amongst friends, followers and family to try and find out what recipes people actually want. The answer came back and it was unanimous........keep it simple, keep it real and you have winning recipes. Give us recipes that require few, on-hand and affordable ingredients and you will have our support, is what the public demanded. Who am I to argue......

Countdown to Christmas Menu - My Festive Roulade on RSG

Today we move from Starters on our Christmas Countdown Menu to desserts! Yes, your eyes are not misreading something, nor have you missed the "Main Course", but last week on RSG I promised my listeners a Christmas dessert recipe so I had to make a slight change in my  post schedule. Do not despair though, I will still do them still before I go on a well deserved break!

How to cook a Spanish Frittata in an Air Fryer?

By now everyone who knows me and have been to my kitchen will know that I am quite an avid Phillips Air Fryer user. I have tried just about everything in the machine and it ticks all the right boxes for me, convenience, user-friendly, healthy, fast, easy-to-clean to mention but a few.

Spanish Fritata #2 - My children call it vegetables in disguise!

I often make fritata, it is a great throw-together-in-a-flash meal and if you play your cards right, you are guaranteed a meal so packed with flavors and textures that it needs very little else, in fact if you have little individual pans, you can save up on dish washing time too, because everyone can eat straight from their pans.

3 course Sandwiches for Meatless Monday

"3 Course Sandwiches!" was my answer to his question. "What are we eating tonight?" After I've said it, there was this long prolonged silence which ended in a deep sigh. "Is there a problem honey? I asked very diplomatically. (Sigh)

A Quiche or a savory tart? What do you think?

I'm not sure! Some people insist on calling it a quiche and some people are quite happy with the term savory tart! I can go into a whole explanation of the differences between the two, but in short....a tart can be savory  or sweet or whereas a quiche can only be savory.

Spanish Recipe - Fritata with Exotic Mushrooms

I thought a Spanish recipe would be just the thing to give my hubby a bit of a melancholy trip down memory lane of his work/vacation trip to Spain a few years ago. "Let's move to Spain" has become a phrase we jokingly use to let each other know when we see or hear something upsetting in the news. It is our emergency code to each other for "I am having a tough day!".

Quiches - Tomato, Spinach and Ricotta is a perfect combination!

Quiches of all kinds and flavors go down very well in my household. I love making quiches, so when I decide "ok, today is quiche day", it normally means that friends and family can be sure of a warm "surprise" around dinner time. My arrival with a quiche on their doorstep is normally preceded by a phone call that says "Don't make supper!"

Boiled eggs - hard or soft...always a treat!

Boiled eggs are a popular breakfast food around the world and here in Cape Town most street vendors sell them. It is cheap, very nutritious and the perfect breakie to have on the run. In my house however boiled eggs are equally welcome at the lunch or dinner table.

Blue Cheese Quiche for a quick supper

A Quiche is such a versatile meal, for in summer you can serve it at room temperature with a delicious salad and in winter piping hot with steamed veggies. The possibilities for fillings are also endless...... you can create your own unique quiche that will satisfy your family's taste buds or search the net for a flavor that you fancy...

Bacon and eggs anyone?

The weekend is something of the past and Mondays are always hectic for me, just to get back into the swing of things, kids to school, catching up on emails, shopping for the week ect....

Spinach and Bacon Quiche

My son has a cricket match this afternoon and even though they only play 20 overs, it takes the whole afternoon. Cooking supper after all this, is just not going to happen, so I quickly made this quiche this morning. It is so simple. I have refined it to two steps, provided that you have the right ingredients.

Three cheese souffle.

At last, after two days of being sick, I finally got to make the souffles from those beautiful eggs I had. They came out beautifully and everyone in the family loved the taste and texture.

Egg..straordinary Eggs

My friend gave me a whole dozen of Jumbo-sized organic eggs this morning and I'm thinking .....omelets, souffles, fritatas, ice-creams and a super soft vanilla layer- cake with custard filling.

Double-Baked Souffle

Ideas for light lunches are always a problem and often we revert to sandwiches or something processed and "ready to eat". I am expecting guests for lunch and this recipe is great, because it can be made in advance and can be enjoyed hot or cold.
