delicious

Delicious Chocolate does not make the world go round, but it certainly makes the trip worthwhile. A silly quote I found on the internet, but  so so true!

Delicious Chocolate desserts and cakes must surely be everybody’s favorite, because whenever I post a chocolate recipe, the response is usually overwhelming! A good piece of chocolate can certainly still your cravings for something sweet! However,  why settle for the ordinary when you can go for over-the-top-delicious!

delicious

By far my most favorite and most delicious chocolate treat was the Chocolate and Fresh Fig Tarts I made over Easter! They were not only very sexy, but truly decadent!

Chocolate and citrus flavors go hand in hand and it is certainly not my invention! (God bless the soul who did!) If you want to make a dead-easy delicious chocolate and citrus dessert, try these ClemenGolds with Chocolate Mousse!Your guests will think you spent hours in the kitchen, but hey I promise not to let your secret out!

Back to ClemenGold. I posted a tweet to ClemenGold last week saying: I hate you for exposing my children to naartjies, they will not even look at another… Mmmmpf!! It’s true, my children love ClemenGold and I cannot keep up buying this delicious fruit.  The lovely soft citrus fruit with the deep orange color of sunset is available exclusively at Woolworths. The children love the easy peel, the no-pips and the convenience of eating ClemenGold!

I had to literally steal a few to make my Chocolate Torte. I have made this torte so many times before, but I though a citrus kick would just be what the doctor ordered!

Preheat oven to 180 C. Prepare a loose bottom cake tin by spraying it with Spray ‘n Cook. Break 200 g of chocolate in smaller blocks and together with the butter, melt  in a glass bowl over simmering water. Leave it to cool slightly. Beat the egg yolks and ½ of the sugar in your mixer until it becomes pale in color and increase in volume. Add the butter and chocolate to the egg mixture and mix through. Sprinkle the almond flour over the top and fold in.  Add the ClemenGold puree and fold in.Whip the  egg whites, cream of tartar and the other half of the sugar until it forms stiff peaks. Fold the beaten egg whites into the batter and lastly add the vanilla extract. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 35-40 minutes and leave in the oven overnight.

The make the ClemenGold decoration

Preheat oven to 80 C. Slice the ClemenGold in thin slices and place on a baking sheet that you have sprayed with Spray ‘n Cook. Dry the slices for about 1 hour or however long it takes to dry out. (it depends on how thick  your slices are) Allow the slices to cool. Break the chocolate in blocks and melt over simmering water. Dip each slice in chocolate ( I only dip the one half). Remove the cake from the tin and decorate with the ClemenGold Slices.
