Jalapeno Burger with Blue Cheese Sauce – My oh my!
Posted on February 12, 2014 by nerinatimm in beef, rsg
Jalapeno is not the most viscous member of the chili pepper family and with a Scoville count of 2500 – 10 000 heat units, there are many varieties hotter than this.
Jalapen0 is the pod-like fruit of the Capsicum family and because it is so nice and big with just the right amount of heat, it is perfect for stuffing or pickling, but it is also a vital ingredient in salsas and relishes if you want to spice things up. Jalapeno are mostly consumed when green, but are already eaten when completely ripe and red. It is interesting to know that the heat is mostly in the membrane surrounding the seeds.
Speaking of spicing things up……. it is Valentine’s day and although I have made 2 delicious desserts, my better half will enjoy “man food”, especially if it has a subtle hint of spice and heat. He does not like “explode in your mouth” kind of heat, but with these Peppadew® Jalapeno Halves, you get a little sweet-sour zing from the pickling liquid, but also the subtle heat from the chopped jalapeno halves.
Jalapeno Burgers with Blue Cheese Sauce
