Spicy Mexican

Spicy Mexican food really gets my taste buds going. I love chilies, love fresh coriander and all the different textures and flavors of Mexican food. My family however is not too keen on chilies although I can see little Missy is becoming more adventurous with spicy food so maybe I will sonn have a partner in crime.

Spicy Mexican food can be a Beef Tacos made with ground beef and real homemade tacos, Low-carb beef tamales, Spicy Mexican fish cakes or spicy Mexican Spud Skins!

What I love, love, love about Mexican food is the simplicity of it all and it is almost as reliable as an old jean, you can dress it up or down as much as you want, Spicy Mexican food always goes down a treat with family and friends.

Spicy Mexican

I have always been a fan of Peppadew products and use it often to spice up my food, but their new range of pasta sauce are just too delicious. Spicy Mexican Salad Wraps

serves 4 – 6


30 ml olive oil
1 large onion – chopped
1 small red pepper – chopped
1 small green pepper – chopped
1 clove garlic – chopped
5 ml cumin
5 ml smoked paprika
500 g lean beef mince
1 – 2 chilies – chopped
250 ml of Peppadew® Tomato and Jalapeño Chillies Pasta Sauce
30 ml chopped coriander

To serve

250 ml sour cream
2 avocados
lime wedges
fresh chopped chili
fresh coriander
buttercup lettuce

Spicy Mexican


Heat the olive oil in a pan and add the onion, peppers, garlic, cumin and paprika. Sauté until soft. Add the beef mince and pasta sauce and cook for about 20 minutes on low heat until the meat is cooked. Add the chopped coriander.
Use the avocados to make guacamole and serve the beef mince in the lettuce wraps and top with sour cream and all the other trimmings.
