Camembert Cranberry Pull Apart Loaf

This Camembert cranberry pull apart loaf belongs on a Christmas Menu somewhere, but I can simply not wait to share it with you.

The Camembert cranberry pull apart loaf has my favorite flavors. I love to pair Fairview Roydon Camembert with fresh or dried fruit especially something tangy such as cranberries, raspberries, maybe nectarine or even pineapple. The cheese itself is really creamy and rich. It is the perfect blend of goat’s and cows milk cheese, so it needs a fresh lift. This is not my first  pull apart loaf, I recently made a sweet version with Nutella which the kids loved. I am happy to say that they loved this one as much and after the shoot it was literally gone in a few seconds.

You definitely can choose your own flavors, but I like a crusty sourdough bread, the delicious cheese, something sweet, something salty, something nutty and something a little tart. It is a crowd-pleaser. Where on earth have you ever seen stringy, melted cheese served and people don’t oooooohhh en ahhhhhhh.

serves 6 – 8


a round or oval sourdough loaf

1 x 250 g Fairview Roydon Camembert

125 ml chopped walnuts

125 ml dried cranberries

80 ml/ ⅓ cup  melted butter

sea salt – optional

250 ml fresh raspberries

Camembert Cranberry Pull Apart Loaf


Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F. Use a serrated knife and cut the bread in long slices down the length and then across, to make cubes. DO NOT CUT THE BREAD RIGHT THROUGH. Place bread on a piece of brown paper or baking paper and onto a baking sheet. Cut the cheese into cubes. Now the fun starts. Open the bread cubes and pack pieces of cheese, cranberries and nuts in between the cubes. Lastly brush the top of the bread with the melted butter. You can sprinkle a little salt on the top, but it is optional. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Scatter the fresh berries over the top and serve while the cheese is hot and still stringy. Cheers!

COOK’S NOTES: I suggest a Fairview Pinotage to serve with this delightful loaf. The pinotage has a bright ruby red colour. Flavors of Cranberries, violets and plum aromas with  hints of vanilla. Elegant flavours of fresh red fruit and clove spice with a firm tannin finish.
