Fishy Halloween spaghetti – Yes, I had to go there!
This Fishy Halloween spaghetti is so good, adults like it too. Ok, I ate a plate full while shooting this recipe. There is nothing but goodness in this recipe, the fishcakes are made with salmon and trout which is so good for you. The tomato sauce is packed with anti-oxidants and the pasta is just enough not to be too much starch. Did I mention that these little fishcakes are perfect for lunchboxes, snack platters and a quick no-mess supper for the kids. I am not the worlds biggest fan on Halloween, but the kids are. However, if you are into the whole mayhem of Halloween, please follow this link, some scary stuff out there.
My children love fish cakes. Even when they were small, it was always a good option to get them to eat good protein. Here are a few of my favorite fishcake recipes. Enjoy and let me know what you think of them.
Fishy Halloween Spaghetti
serves 4 children
Ingredients
14 mini Salmon & Trout Fish Cakes
1 x 390g Woolworths Italian Crushed Tomatoes – a tin of chopped tomatoes will do just fine.
100 g spaghetti – cooked according to package instructions
a little mayo in a squishy bottle
a few black currents or pieces of black olives to use for eyes
Method
Cook the past according to package instructions. Heat the tomato sauce. The fish cakes literally need 2 minutes in the microwave. Drain the spaghetti and when you are ready use the spaghetti to make face bandages. Use a squishy bottle to make the eyes with mayo and do the pupils with piece of olive or the black currents.
All you have to do then is to plate up and see how the kids devour these plates of Fishy Halloween Spaghetti.
